My 60 days of PiYo kicked off this week!! After two rounds of the 21 Day Fix, I was itching to try something new, and my muscles needed the challenge too. 21 Day Fix is my classic style of working out. PiYo is a whole new ball game! And it looks like it's going to be a game changer!
So, what is PiYo??
PiYo is an aerobic mix of pilates and yoga all in one. The impact on the joints is low, using only your body weight and no equipment. With the constant movement, this is a more dynamic workout than what you'd expect from pilates or yoga. The constant movement also ups the intensity big time! You have lengthening, strengthening, and calorie burning all in one. Sign me up!
What I love about PiYo so far:
- The workouts are short ranging from 20-45 minutes.
- There are eight different workouts, so it keeps me from getting bored.
- Chalene Johnson. Enough said!
- I'm using muscles I never knew I had!
- I can already notice improvements in strength and flexibility in just the first week.
Just like with the 21 Day Fix, I'll be tracking my results with this program over the next 60 days. I'm working towards toning all those soft areas from pregnancy and kicking those last few pounds to the curb! Bring on the abs and biceps!
