As they say, "Failing to plan is planning to fail." Both during my maternity leave, and even more importantly after I return to work full-time, I'm going to need a solid plan. This plan primarily will involve prepping most meals and snacks for the week ahead of time so I can grab and go each morning. I also won't be tempted to choose unhealthy items when the health goods are already prepped!
Here are the top items I'd recommend for food prep/storage if you're ready to dive into the 21 Day Fix:
- General food storage containers. It's easy to grab a variety of sizes of food storage for prepped meals. Whether glass, plastic, or disposable, having a mixture of shapes and sizes on hand on prep day will make the process a breeze.
- Up & Up Color Sandwich Bags. These come highly recommended by other Fixers. The blue, red, yellow, and green bags can be used to store pre-portioned snacks for grabbing and going. It takes the guess work out of the meal planning and tracking process throughout the week. It was quite a challenge to get my hands on these guys! After checking three separate Target stores for them, I finally just ordered online. Tip: If you have a Target Red Card (debit or credit), not only do you still get the 5% off, you also get free shipping. Can't get any easier than that!
- Magic Bullet (or other single-serve blender). Within minutes of this arriving on our front door step, the Bullet was opened and in action. What a time saver! When you're wanting to try new Shakeology recipes or make your own smoothies, having a single-serve blender on hand is another great time saver. In under 1 minute, you can have a superfood, super delicious breakfast in hand before running out the door.
Needless to say, none of these items will help you succeed if you're not committed to the process and they're certainly not required, but I hope they may help kick-start your 21 Day Fix!
